Herman M. Jeffer

Herman M. Jeffer is a member of Jeffer, Hopkinson & Vogel, practicing in the areas of trusts and estates, probate, wills, and business and corporate law.  Mr. Jeffer was born in New Jersey and attended Calvin College & Seminary, where he received his undergraduate degree.  He then attended Duke University and New York University, where he received his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree.

Mr. Jeffer has served as attorney for the Board of Adjustment, Township of Wyckoff; Boroughs of Prospect Park and Midland Park; Eastern Christian School Association; and the Christian Health Care Center.  He is also a member and liaison with the National Institute of Municipal Law Officers Committee and a member of the American Bar Association.

Mr. Jeffer is admitted to practice in all state courts of New Jersey, Florida, and New York; the United States Tax Court; and the Supreme Court of the United States.

Reginald F. Hopkinson

Reginald F. Hopkinson is a member of Jeffer, Hopkinson & Vogel, practicing in the areas of environmental law, insurance, contracts, and litigation.  He was born in Paterson, New Jersey, and is a former Captain of the United States Marine Corps.  He received his Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degrees from the University of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Hopkinson served as attorney for the Planning Board of Borough of Bloomingdale; the Boards of Education of the Boroughs of Hawthorne and Fair Lawn.  He also served as attorney for the Board of Education of Ramapo-Indian Hills Regional District and the Board of Education in Glen Rock.

Mr. Hopkinson is a member of the Passaic County and New Jersey State Bar Associations.  He is admitted to practice law in all state courts of New Jersey and Florida; the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey; the United States Court of Federal Claims; and the United States Supreme Court.

Jerome A. Vogel

Jerome A. Vogel is a member of Jeffer, Hopkinson & Vogel, practicing in the areas of zoning, planning, and land use; commercial real estate; litigation; environmental law; business law; and corporate law.  Mr. Vogel attended Purdue University, where he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree, and thereafter attended Washington College of Law, American University, where he received his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree.

Mr. Vogel was formerly a Law Clerk to the Honorable Harold Kolovsky, Judge of the Superior Court of New Jersey.  He also previously served as counsel to the Township of Wayne.  He has attained the highest possible rating of "AV" from Martindale-Hubbell, the national directory of attorneys, signifying preeminent legal ability and the highest standard of ethics.

Mr. Vogel is a member of the Passaic County Bar Association, and a former president of that organization.  He is also a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, as well as a member of the District of Columbia Bar, and member and former delegate of the Association of the Federal Bar of the State of New Jersey.  He was appointed by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a member of the State Committee on Character, and also served as chairman of the Passaic County Ethics Committee.

He is admitted to practice in all state courts of New Jersey, the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, the United States Tax Court, and the District of Columbia.

David H. Altman

David H. Altman is a member of the firm practicing in the areas of commercial litigation, environmental law, commercial law and construction litigation.  Mr. Altman attended Northeastern University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude.  He then attended Vermont Law School, where he received his Juris Doctor degree.  He is a recipient of the Bureau of National Affairs Award.

Mr. Altman is General Counsel to S.A. Bendheim, Inc., for which he provides advice on matters ranging from personnel issues to joint ventures.  He is admitted to practice law in all state courts of New Jersey and New York and in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.  Of the many notable cases Mr. Altman handled, he successfully  achieved a dismissal of all claims brought against the firm's client, a large-scale general contracting firm, and his success was memorialized by the Appellate Division in a published opinion captioned School Alliance Ins. Fund v. Fama Construction Co., et al., 353 N.J. Super. 1 (App.Div. 2002); 353 N.J. Super. 131 (Law Div. 2001).

At the request of the presiding Chancery (General Equity) Judge in Passaic County, Mr. Altman has served as the Court's Special Fiscal Agent.  He is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association.

Kenneth L. Konner

Kenneth L. Konner is an attorney of counsel at Jeffer Hopkinson & Vogel, joining the firm in 2013.

Mr. Konner graduated from Syracuse University in 1967, with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting.  In 1971, he received his law degree from Seton Hall University School of Law and was admitted to practice in all state courts in New Jersey and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.  He is a member of the Passaic County Bar Association.

Mr. Konner was a partner in the Paterson, New Jersey, law firm of Shavick, Stern, Schotz, Steiger & Croland, and then in the Hackensack, New Jersey law firms of Shavick, Schotz, Nadler, & Konner and Cole, Schotz, Bernstein,Meisel & Forman.  In 1984, he returned to his family's new car and truck automotive dealerships in Paramus,  Englewood Cliffs, Westwood, and Butler, New Jersey.  In 2006, Mr. Konner returned to the full-time practice of law, becoming an attorney of counsel to Maneri Law Firm, LLC, in Fairfield, New Jersey.

Mr. Konner maintains a New Jersey Real Estate Commission Real Estate Referral License.  He has been listed in Marquis' Who's Who in American Law and Strathmore's Who's Who, and has been a member, officer and counsel of the Angels of Hope Foundation; the Bergen Community Museum of Art and Science; the Bergen, Passaic & Rockland County Chevrolet Dealers Association; and the Friends of the Hermitage, Inc.  Mr. Konner has been recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow of the Rotary International Foundation; and a Syracuse University Alumni Representative of the Year.
